چکیده مقاله
Getting a proper sleep has always been known as an important factor in learning efficiency. Lack of sleep can cause several problems for the individual as well as his environment. Many external and internal factors can be the reason behind a person’s sleep deprivation which should be identified and eliminated. In order to prove the relationship between an adequate nighttime sleep and the efficiency in learning, we have conducted a field research in which and we have used descriptive statistics on a sample of few hundred students in our hometown city. The samples varied between age and time of day when they participated in the class, with different sleep schedules including individuals who receive enough sleep and the ones who don’t. We have conducted the research in various levels, in which the results between the students of the morning and afternoon school shifts, older and younger students, and the students of a governmental school and the students of a language academy, have been documented and compared. We also used a set of closed questionaries to ask about their sleeping habits and incorporated the results as well. In the end we have compared the results of different scenarios with the theories related to them and concluded that there is a positive correlation between getting enough sleep and having a higher efficiency in learning and specially second language learning.
