The present research aimed to assess the high school English textbooks of Iran and Indonesia which are respectively Vision and Bahasa Inggris series. The study will be considering cultural content and cultural elements. This concentrate additionally pointed toward deciding whether there were huge contrasts between these series as far as cultural content and cultural component portrayal. For this purpose, both textbooks were examined in light of Cortazzi and Jin's (1999) structure. The outcomes uncovered that critical contrasts existed between the course books as far as culture issue was concerned, in spite of the fact that there additionally existed essential similarities between the two. Iran Vision covered higher amount of L1 and Neutral-cultural content, while Bahasa Inggris demonstrated inclination to cover La and L2 cultural content. Regarding the cultural components, both books included more aesthetic and semantic components. The research suggests ELT educational planning strategies in both countries and can make EFL educators acquainted with significance of studies on culture within the language education setting.
